Proper rehabilitation after a traumatic injury can mean the difference between returning to pre-injury status, having limited range of motion, or not being able to move at all. Rehab is an essential part of the healing process.
We promote active physical therapy, in addition to passive therapy, for patients because we want them to get stronger while healing. Neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons regularly refer patients to our clinic for evaluation and treatment because of our unique rehab program.
Our rehab staff is expertly trained in active rehab and certified in ELDOA, a stretching and strengthening technique used to target a specific joint (region) for spinal decompression and pain relief. Our rehab manager is a C.H.E.K. certified practitioner and rehabilitation specialist. He specializes in Corrective Exercise and High-performance Kinesiology. He is also trained in assessment techniques and individualized application of exercise and exercise programs, particularly in complex orthopedic conditions.
Once a patient is assessed by our doctors and after rehabilitative care is recommended, the rehab manager consults with the doctor to discuss the patient’s needs. Then, they work jointly to manage the patient’s effective rehab care plan. Key components of rehab programs are the integration of many different modalities, including traditional rehab exercises, mind-body fitness, soft-tissue therapies, and orthopedic rehabilitation. At all times, our doctors assess the progress of the patient’s treatment program.
