Workers Compensation

Louisiana Revised Statute 23:1121 addresses the issue of medical treatment for workers injured in the workplace.  It is very important to be seen by a doctor who knows how to treat your injuries or illness, and who will work with you and your employer to identify the kinds of work you can do safely while recovering

Medical providers are required to provide “evidence-based medical treatment” that represent the best standards of care and practices for the injured worker.  That means that your chosen doctor must use treatments scientifically proven to cure or relieve work-related injuries and illnesses. The specifics of what those treatments include are set forth in complex guidelines that provide details on which treatments are effective for certain injuries.

The workers compensation laws can seem complex and seemingly overwhelming.  However, Dr. Paul Gordon and his staff at Integrated Spine & Disc are well versed in workers compensation medical treatment.  Dr. Gordon will work closely with your employer and/or attorney to develop a return-to-work plan that is appropriate for your injury. The plan may involve different assignments, reduced working hours, special equipment, or other changes in working conditions. We believe that staying active, when possible, during your treatment can increase your chances of recovering fully.

If you have been injured at work and need to see a doctor, then the doctors at Integrated Spine & Disc are available to provide you with your best chance at healing.
